The water temperature is usually around 16 - 18 degrees, which makes a wetsuit essential, but is still very pleasant compared to all destinations in Europe. But especially for intermediate and advanced surfers, these are the best months to surf in Morocco, as the waves are very consistent and offer some challenges.

The spring and autumn months (March to May and September to November) are often underestimated, but they are perfect for a surf holiday in Morocco, especially for beginners and intermediate surfers! At this time of year, the waves are usually still very consistent, but not quite as big and powerful and therefore easier to handle. At the same time, it's warmer both in and out of the water and the beaches and surf spots are less crowded. With water temperatures between 18 and 20 degrees, with a bit of luck you can even jump into the waves without a wetsuit - it doesn't get any better than that!

In the summer months from June to August, the swells from the Atlantic decrease significantly. This means that the waves get smaller and there are also flat days from time to time. While this is a clear exclusion criteria for intermediate and advanced surfers, beginners can still get their fun and learn to surf in a relaxed setting. With water temperatures between 22 and 24 degrees, this is usually possible without a wetsuit. In addition to surfing, you can also enjoy the long sunny days and lively beach culture during this time.
