Your first surfing adventure in the idyllic north of Lanzarote

Lanzarote is like Fuerteventura's little sister: there is less tourism here, there is even more untouched nature and more surf spots for advanced surfers await you on this unique volcanic island.

Caleta de Famara is a small village on the north coast of Lanzarote and is located in the middle of the Chinio archipelago nature reserve. While the south is characterized by tourism, here you will find peace, serenity and like-minded surfers. In addition to the local gastronomy, you can also hire skateboards, bikes and cars, go to the fitness center and visit yoga or massage studios.

In recent years, Famara has developed into a small surfing hotspot for people from all over the world. The secluded, three-kilometre-long sandy beach borders the Caleta de Famara to the west and ends directly at the Risco de Famara mountain massif to the west. The incomparable area, shaped by volcanic rock, is characterized by its secluded, rugged nature and its vastness.

Just around the corner you will also find the famous sandy beach of San Juan, where competitions are held every October as part of the World Surfing Championships. For longer excursions, Lanzarote also offers the Timanfaya National Park with its dormant volcanoes, as well as Jameos del Agua, an extraordinary volcanic tunnel with caves, underground concert hall, restaurant and salt lake.
