Himalayan bike tour via the Manali Leh Highway

The ultimate tour for all cyclists in India is probably the cycle tour along the Manali Leh Highway! From the green Kullu Valley, the 478-kilometre Manali-Leh Highway takes us into arid high mountain deserts, to clear salt lakes, past Buddhist monasteries and through tiny mountain villages.Before we reach the Buddhist capital of Ladakh, Leh, we have to cross five passes, two of which are over 5,000 meters high! The sporting highlight of our tour is the drive up to the Khardung La Pass.
