High-quality surf house with pool in Portugal's surf mecca Peniche

The surf camp is located right next to Peniche on Baleal beach, which has several surf spots (beach and reef breaks) to offer. Incidentally, today's Baleal peninsula was once an island whose name is derived from Baleia, Portuguese for 'whale'. You can get to Peniche in around ten minutes by car and to Lisbon in an hour. There are also regular bus connections to Peniche. There are also bars and cafés on the beach in Baleal, where you can enjoy the sunset and party at night. There are also restaurants, a supermarket, surf stores and a bakery here.

Supertubos

South of the peninsula is the long sandy beach Praia do Medão with the world-famous Supertubos surf spot. With its tubular, long-lasting wave that runs over sandy ground, Supertubos is considered the best surf spot in Europe. If you ever have the chance to see this wave, you should definitely make a little detour there. The excursion can easily be combined with a trip to Peniche, the lighthouse and the fortress.

Peniche tour

Cabo Carvoeiro with its beautiful lighthouse is located at the westernmost point of the Peniche peninsula. With its steep cliffs, the cape offers a spectacular view over the Berlengas archipelago. From here, a path along the coastal road leads down the steps to the Gruta da Furninha cave. If you want to see more, stroll to the northern end of Peniche and take a look at the fortress and the harbor.

Berlengas Islands and fort

You can reach the Berlengas Islands nature reserve by ferry, which departs from the port of Peniche. The crossing takes just under an hour. Once there, you can enjoy the view of Peniche and visit the fort of São João Baptista, which makes an ideal photo opportunity.
