As a former professional surfer, Duncan first came to Peniche to surf in 1983. His love for the place, the beautiful nature, the magical people and the consistently good waves kept him coming back for the next ten years. He soon realized that this was not enough and moved to Portugal with his wife Claire and son Dane. Together they fulfilled their dream of opening their own surf lodge in 2008. Since then, they have been welcoming guests from all over the world and living the dream of the surf lifestyle together as a family.

Our surf lodge offers various private rooms that are ideal for couples, friends and small families. Highlights include a roof terrace with a view of the sea and a spacious communal kitchen with a BBQ balcony. The walk to the beach could hardly be shorter: In one direction, you are just a few steps away from a three-kilometer-long sand beach that connects Peniche and Baleal. In the other direction, just after a few minutes walk you get to the small, hidden dream beach of Papoa, offering an unforgettable panorama, especially for sunsets.

The choice of beaches and surf spots around Peniche is unrivaled in Europe. From gentle long waves to steep fast barrels, you'll find everything your heart desires. For the daily surf sessions, we set off together in the morning to the best surf spot of the day and then surf the best waves in small groups. Afterwards, we usually enjoy time together on the beach before heading out into the waves again in the afternoon for a free surf session.
