Surf & Relax in Thiranagama: your paradise in Sri Lanka

You are responsible for your own transportation to the surf camp in Thiranagama. Private transfer (car or cab):The most comfortable and fastest way to get from Bandaranaike International Airport to Thiranagama is a private transfer. You can book a cab or driver in advance to take you directly from the arrivals hall to your accommodation. The journey takes around two and a half to three hours and the cost is around €60-90 depending on the type of vehicle and negotiation. This option is ideal if you are looking for a stress-free and direct journey. By train:For a scenic and budget-friendly journey, you can take the train. First, take a cab or shuttle (approx. 45 minutes) from the airport to Colombo Fort station. From there, take a train south and get off at Thiranagama. The train ride along the coast offers beautiful views and the cost is very reasonable at €5-10. Depending on the train and waiting time, the entire journey takes around four to five hours and is an authentic experience for the adventurous. By bus:Another cheap option is to travel by bus. From the airport, first take a cab or shuttle to the Makumbura Multimodal Hub (approx. 30 minutes). There you board an expressway bus in the direction of Galle. From Galle, you can either take a local bus or a tuk-tuk to reach Thiranagama. This option takes around four hours in total and costs between €10 and €20. It is the perfect choice if you want to make the trip as cheap as possible and get an insight into local life.
